Zumo - Route too long

Just trying out Basecamp, pretty impressed so far

Anyway uploading a trip to Nurburgring from Southampton on my Zumo 500. Routes and maps successfully uploaded to the 4gb SD card. Then in user data/import route I get an error message saying that the route is too long. Its only 481 miles.

Anyone else had this problem?

John

Is it something to do with the number of waypoints?

I have a lot of problems transferring data from Basecamp to my 660 but I think it's a feature of my Mac Book setup rather than Basecamp per se.

I've had "too many routes" but never too long.

Simple, break it into two routes.

You don't have a route going from home all the way to the Nurburgring do you? Best practice to split it into home to embarkation port or tunnel, then plot a 2nd from disembarkation port to destination. And that's if you're riding that all in one day. Otherwise break it up into days as well.

This give the sat nav an easier time on any recalculation, it'll be quicker to do it.
