Good but not that good !
Stoner is an incredible talent on a race bike, I new this when I first watched him as a kid on a 125. At world championship level his abilities on a 125 and 250 were no match for the likes of Rossi, different era so well never know will we but the stats say so. Stoners first Moto GP season on a Honda wasn't very impressive was it, something perhaps he should remember. A world title followed with Ducati, a title that perhaps only Stoner could have won on a bike where the rider had to totally trust the electronics. Rossi and Burgess couldn't sort the Ducati, well anyone who has looked at J burgess's record would be very hard pressed to question the mans ability ask M.Doohan for one.
I don't think Rossi will win another world championship on the Yamaha due to age, but he won't be far off. The best rider in the world at the moment is Lorenzo. Was once a spoilt brat on a 250, but has matured into a true sportsman and a superb rider who doesn't slag everyone off coz they were on my track during qualifying etc. Cecil |

I read somewherethat Dovi had got the Ducati ride.
If you read what Hayden had to say when comparing Stoner on the Ducati and how he let the bike move under him as against Crutchlow who moves around the bike then it is understandable why Crutchlow isn't on the Factory Ducati but maybe on a satelite ride. Personally I don't rate Crutchlow at this time as he is too wild but next year or so he may have got it all together. There is obviously some bad feeling in the MotoGP paddock when two top riders just quit and I guess that is how MotoGP is run and the atmosphere in the paddock so have WSB got it right? I'm kinda confused here, bikers on a forum dont rate Stoner yet folk in the racing world rate him one of the very best. Who's talking shite and who's not?
Nicky Hayden at a press conference after his maiden Ducati test "man I dont know how much they pay Casey Stoner but I think they should double it" Valentino Rossi " Casey's performance fucked us" Mr Nakamoto (HRC top banana) " Casey is faster than our bike" Cal Crutchlow " The guy's amazing" VFR forum " Casey's a wee dick and Rossi's better" ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I think it is more that Stoner struggled to wean himself off the milk and on to a solid diet.

They're mostly whinging prima donnas, even Rossi. It goes with the territory, I guess. The only exception that springs to mind is Colin Edwards. Why keep on about Stoner? So some people are so besotted with Rossi that they can't countenance the notion that someone might just be more talented. But Casey is history. I'm much more interested in the sparks that might fly next year, in and out of the Yamaha pit.
