Almost new Boxer bar muffs, cost £28.60...I post to you,you donate whatever you like to SERV Norfolk once you are happy with them! Ditto New nylon motorcycle cover, extra large size, elasticated bottom, metal reinforced eyelet for tie or bike lock. Cheers,If we look hard enough plenty of us has kit which we may never use again, but would be valued by another biker now!
The win is that the Charity gains now in difficult times when help is most needed, and we both have the satisfaction of supporting a Good cause. Whenever I have offered similar before, the recipient biker is often more than generous and goes out of their way to complete their part of the bargain. We know that stuff is cheap on e bay at the moment but this is a more pleasant way to interact with bikers we can trust A win win indeed!

Another way to help is to volunteer!. A good friend sent an email offering his services before Christmas to the Yorkshire blood bike region and within 2 weeks he filling the role of dispatcher (takes the call from the hospital, prioritises the call and distributes tasks to the riders). If you have IAM or ROSPA qualifications you can go on the list as a rider too. He is working on his IAM at the moment so he can move over to the bikes (although at 5ft6 he could have issues with the size and weight of a Pan).
I looked into joining the team myself but because it would likely impact my ability to deliver my paid day job its not something my employer would be supportive of. |

Our service is all out of hours.yes having a recent Rospa qualification,I got straight onto the bikes, I have my IAM car so am also on the emergency list for when it is too icy for the bikes/and too cold for the products.
I have now volunteered to do the dispatching, our dispatchers need to have done all the bike training/routes /hospitals first tho so they know what they are talking about or sending the bikes too...possibly a 200mile trip! There is also the valuable job of fund raising, rattling buckets, press, web site...etc etc....All essential so if anyone has special skills! For example we where recently trained for free in first response first aid,if you are riding a blood bike ,jo public will flag you down...but all good! |
