Hi.....a mate of mine has a CBR400RR NC23 and has just fitted some Bridgestone BT090's to it.

Sizes are - Front - 120/60/17 Rear - 150/60/18

Are these the same size are fitted to a VFR/RVF 400 and if so could you advise on the correct tyre pressures please.

The bike shop that fitted them set them at 33F/33R but is not happy with them...says that the front feels like its flattening in the corner ( :dunno: )

Have checked the Bridgestone website abd they specify 2.0bar (29) for front and 2.3bar (33psi) for rear. He isn't convinced as this would seem to be going to exacerbate the problem?

Can anyone help?

Cheers......Cav

Those are the same sizes for the VFR400s but the RVF400 uses a 150/60/17 for it's 17" rear wheel.

I always ran mine at 33/36 on my RVF400s but bridgestone's figures are probably right for a 9st Japanese teenager.

Whatever, once scrubbed in, the BT090 is a superb tyre and much more capable than the chassis your mate's got.

What your mate neds to do is read a manual on set-up and work out what his feelings should be translated into.

Also make sure he is checking the air pressure before the bike is ridden and the tyre is cold. The pressures stated must be set with the tyre in this condition.

Dpon't know if it's any help, but my track bike is an NC23, on 090's, same sizes. I run 36 front and rear on cold wet days, and 32 on dry days. I weigh 13 stone and a bit.

If the front feels like its pushing, more likely the fork oil is past it's best, though they are softly sprung.

i think it is all amatter of what weight you are, i check my haynes manual, you can pick one up foer £20, then adjust it to your weight, i think it is a matter of trial and error...biut i run Dunlop GPR70's on mine anyway
