Well, Dobles (http://www.doble.co.uk/theBikes/usedBikes/fullUsedBikeDetails.asp?bikeRef=6909) are doing them. They don't look half bad, either. :)

Truly suited to black is the VFR 1200:beer:

Have a good look at the black bike and tell me what is wrong with it?
No I don't mean swarf in the engine.
If you don't get it within 24 hours I will supply the answer.

Well done Dom, The badges have been fitted facing the wrong way!!
At £40 each the dealer won't be in a hurry to change them.........

the black dont look too bad at all. Id like to see the 1200 in the italian red colour they used in 2004. My boss has an 800 vtec in black. 2009 model vtec I think and I dont think it looks as good as the 12 in black

Why would you take a brand new bike out the crate and then paint it:dunno:

I would guess it been dropped at some point.....

'cos you think it looks better in black than the (limited) colours Honda offer perhaps?:d:

Have to agree here. No paint shop can match the factory finish.

If I get bored of the colour I'll wait a few years and see what other colours Honda decide to offer, then maybe buy new plastics. Inevitably they will make a black one in what's sure to be a 7-8 year model cycle for this bike.

How about a metallic charcoal color?

Because you know it will look great my bike had not been dropped but i just thought it would look better IMO if i did what i have done to it.

Sorry they can do better than factory:rolleyes:Bit of a daft remark IMO but yours to make.
Pop your bike round he does some interesting colours:}

Hi,

if you find the right paint shop and person that can spay well you will find they can often do a better job than a factory robot :)

I would agree about 'why' paint a perfectly good bike completely like this, something don't seem right. It would cost far too much to do just for an experiment into whether people would like a black VFR.

WOW!!. I think the black looks absolutely fantastic :lick:, Honda missed the trick when it did not include a black option IMHO. I had hoped that Honda would bring out a black model next year when I was looking to buy one...Oh no I'm so tempted:t:

Oh yeah :lick: I'm liking it in black. Liking it a lot in the black. Not been so taken by the other colours. I reckon a dark, dark blue would also work.

You know I'm gonna be checking the tank badges on all VFR12's now lol

I'm hoping to book a test ride on one soon. I will own one. One day.

Here's mine in black. I'm very pleased with the colour and I agree a few darker colours would look great. Top box and panniers to follow.

I reckon they missed a trick there, should have painted the wheels and front forks gold, nothing matches black better than gold :)

I used to love my black bikes, had a few, but gradually went off the colour, dunno why :dunno: maybe the force is strong with me and I went away from the dark side :club:

I was in Dobles yesterday and its sold now- It went fully loaded with colour coded luggage, sat na, grips stand and all the toys.....nearly £16,000

Makes you wonder how much a new pan will be when it arrives...

The thing that struck me with the black scheme was that Honda made a big thing of the 'new' paint process for the 12 for all three colours - assuming this black wasn't done by Honda then is is up to the same deep quality that Honda have developed?

I have found that - generally - the finish achieved by established paint shops does put many bike manufacturers to shame. But better than Honda? Time will tell there.

And usually I'd agree but Honda have made a lot of noise about this 'extra high quality paint finish' for this bike. Maybe all that means is it's as good as a hand painted version....

£15,999.99...........you'd have to be fully loaded yourself to afford this, count me out, unfortunately

The price some people will pay for exclusivity I suppose, good luck to the buyer whoever it is, just get the wheels and forks painted gold would be my advice :)

Traded MV agusta f4 750 in for 2005 fireblade , delivered bike to gloucestershire & picked the mv up , relied on my honest description of trade-in. 3 yrs later traded the 05 for 08 blade , no hassle whatsoever . Did feel guilty having had the demos locally but they do have the opportunity to match dobles on price etc . I bought the vfr1200 locally cos with a bit of bargaining I got them down to within £150 of Dobles . Had to trade in the blade and my 2001 blackbird though and gutted to see them sell them almost straightaway for a lot more than they gave me in part ex. Can't comment on aftermarket service as had blades serviced locally but on buying bikes very smooth operation

I agree with the sales service, good prices also... Aftersales was another story, they couldn't give a toss....

Just bought a CB1300 from them and sales service was excellent, as was the price. Delivery was spot on. They took my PX on trust. They won't be doing the aftercare as I live oop norf so can't comment on that.
