Can anyone tell me if all panniers for 1150'S are located from the same points, meaning will a pannier off an R or GS fit my RS?
I am trying to buy some second hand and there seems to be a few for all other bikes but none for the RS. Cheers Mark68 |

Hi
I had to do a bit f research when I got panniers for my 1100RS from Ebay. I am not sure about the 1150 but think it is the same as on the 1100's The BMW panniers clip striat on to the RS, the R & The S require an additional lug on the footpegs and small frame beside the seats but then the same panniers attach. i.e. if they are BMW panniers which were on an S or R they should fit strait onto an RS. BMW's accessory part of their site is quite good at explaining what fits what. |

I think the main differences are down to the exhaust placement on different models. The K12 and GS both have high silencers and this means that the panniers are even more assymetric than usual. This really annoyed the bike cop I spoke to who was riding a K1200GTP.
I was quite surprised to realise that the panniers on my R1100RS were not the same size - I think the differences are due to the right hand side pillion peg being further out to clear the paralever.

PS - the best way I have found to prove this sort of stuff is to compare part numbers on the internet web microfiche pages. Its the same if the listed part number is the same. Using this method I found that the tank on the R1100RS and R1150RS is the same part number.

Had the same issue a couple of months ago. Basically the higher exhaust on the R & GS models mean a larger indent in the back of one of the panniers (ie it is smaller inside). However they will fit an RS. The RS & RT panniers are the same. See the following link for part numbers:

I have often mused over the puzzle of why the rear foot rests were not symmetrical, now I finally know, thanks alistair. |

Hi
I know this has prob been asked before but I am going to ask again. Do the 1100rs panniers (system cases) fit the 1150rs ? , just I can see the pannier support is different and has extra supports above the rear light. The numbers from a pannier I have been looking at are 46542317614 & 46544766088 but these dont match the system case numbers I can see on the BMW parts list (46542317615) ! Thanks for your help Rich
