+1 on the point that it shouldn't be horrible in the mid-range. Mine isn't and it has the orginal set-up. To answer the earlier point re unequal air intake tubes, according to the BB chip instructions assymetric intake lengths create a swirl effect that improves top-end power (I paraphrase this). As I said, I merely report what they say, I'm not qualified to say with any authority at all whether or not there is some merit in this, though it seems plausible to me. Air box design on modern bikes has a great deal of influence on perfomance; gone are the days of sticking a bellmouth on the carb(s).

I'm on tour now, but yes bike is in good state of tune. Going to take it to a bmw specialist this week, they're going to test ride it. We'll see if its me, or the bike,
Thanks for the replies, i was wondering if the tubes smoothed the engine response in any way, that alone would be worth the investment for me.
