My wife has the ST, I've ridden it some and find it to be a very good engine and transmission. It is very smooth, has no real power peaks, just a good steady climb. The shifting is easy and smooth rewuiring little effort. Hers has the low suspension and low seat, so for me the bike is pretty uncomfortable. For her its great with the addition of a set of bar risers to cut the reach down some. I haven't ridden any other to get a true impression of the riding position in regular form. She is very pleased with the bike and the way it handles. Previously she was riding an 02 Bonneville, and found it was just not spectacular in the corners nor a real powerhouse. The ST is fully capable of keeping up with me on my RS.
