Love the bike ...hate that flashing ABS & Brake warning light!. after about 6 months hassle free riding on the 30-03-10 I brought my 03 r1150rs to my local mechanic with ABS light flashing etc( it had been at it for 2/3 weeks). Brakes were spongy at the rear, once I was close to no brakes at all so not a happy biker.!! His fault codes gave...'too high pressure in the wheel circuit''. Bike was off the road and I got it to the main dealer in Cork some 120 miles away and read out there was..''incorrect pressure in wheel circuits(too high). I discovered that a new ABS uniot was fitted in 06 before I purchased it 2nd hand. Fault cleared in Cork and no problem until later in the autumn when lights flashed again. I cleaned the rear brake micro switch then and lights off so drove her no problem until early October. Bike was garaged until today and on trickle charger so battery fine but warning lights flashing again today. 'Took it to my local lad who popped the diagnostic unit on and again...''too high pressure in the wheel circuit'', the rear I think. Servo when front brake lever pulled sounds as it should he says, constant whine, but servo sound at rear pedal wrong he says..servo whine for a few seconds and then stops. Depression all round for me.. Things are bad enough in this country ... now my bike's acting up again ..woe woe woe!!!:bawl::bawl::confused::confused::help::help:

Hi Con

I have an 1100 so it hasnt got the same brake system.

I get the impression that most people who have an 1150 leave their BMW dealer to sort out the breaks as they are a bit of an oddity. You could try giving Phil Hawksley AKA www.boxerman.co.uk a call, he does major services on my bike and may know an independent who will deal with or give advice on the servo breaks on the 1150's, From talking to him I dont think he does himself, but he may have some ideas.

Sorry thats the most help I can be but I feel your pain, I currently have a rear tyre with less than 500 miles on it which has picked up a nail which can't be repaired
