Seat Compatibility 1100vs1150

I am looking at a long flat seat that was originally made for an 1100RS. Will it fit the 2004 R1150RS?

No idea if that seat will fit, but I can tell you that I swapped seats from my '94 R1100RS to my '02 R1150RS for a month and it worked fine. (I have been told that other owners couldn't do this trick, but I don't know why...)

Last summer I bought new, or rebuilt seats from Rick Mayer . The first rear seat he sent would not fit. Someone in the past had tried to force it in place, and had broken the front engagement tab. I was told it was from an older RS1100, and that is why it would not work. I returned the rear seat and he sent another that worked fine. I had earlier tried to buy a pair of seats, and was told that the earlier 1100s are different from the 1150s. I have a 2002 1150. That is my experience. I understand that there is a "European" seat that is a single unit, and not two separate pieces.

I am looking at a tall Euro one piece seat for my new 04 1150RS. I am hoping it will fit. It was used on an 1100RS...
