Ok, time fer a new thread on this part.

I will only need front power socket for sat nav as I am getting rid of my tank bag power in return for new gadget box I'm gonna be makin fer plug an play accesories.
Idea being that I will have a 8 way fuse box (mainly 1 amp) for me gadgets that will have dc plugs, meaning that I can still remove my toys for normal bike use an simply plug them in before ride outs as per sat nav up front.

All the solutions at the moment are to hard wire, I just want somat foolproof an simple.
I'm aiming for box with 6 switched sockets an 2 permanent live feeds made out of 1mm thick alloy

Sockets in box:

Toys will get these plugs:

Switched:
1: heated grips - will stay plugged in
2: front power socket for sat nav - will stay plugged in
3: Autocom - only plugged in under seat for ride outs
4: Autocom bluetooth module - only plugged in under seat for ride outs
5: Ready fer when I get camera - only plugged in under seat for ride outs
6: Spare

Permanent:

7: Scottoiler - left plugged in
8: Spare

So, thats where I'm heading with power, parts starting to arrive, I'll keep yer updated

Photo of first few parts

You must have lots of room under your seat...

Do you have one of the Scottoiler e-system oilers?

I have lots of room

The new box will make my first attempt redundant
EDIT: you can see my connectors at the mo, in first photo, 3 big black chunky monkeys behind seat bar
it will measure roughly 105 mm long x 30 mm high x 35 mm wide
It will have LED's to show if fuses gone on 6 switched ones, scottoiler will act as notice on 2 perm ones an everything will be inside me new box with just a 3 pin connector, so it is transferable from bike to bike, stuck in place with dual lock tape I was on about

Muttley likes his farkles. We were having a race but I've given up as it appears he has more disposable income and more time

Your forgetting your new all singing and dancing GPS complete with sandwich box, not to mention your A2DP Bluetooth set-up. I'm making do with my old StreetPilot and 2nd hand mono BT dongle...

Don't try adding up the cost, you'll only cry

I won't deny it, I like the odd gadget or two...
